Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the North Florida Wildlife Center. This volunteer opportunity requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, extending over a period of at least 12 weeks. You will also need the ability to work outside for at least four hours a day and lift ~30 lbs.
Volunteer shifts are divided into two daily five hour blocks. The morning shift is 7am-12pm, while the afternoon shift is 12pm-5pm. You may complete your minimum weekly requirement of 10 hours within a single day, or choose at least two shifts on different days (for example, Wednesday mornings and Saturday afternoons). Please note that you will have a set schedule unless you have a scheduling conflict.
Our volunteers have the opportunity to complete a wide variety of tasks, including animal husbandry, groundskeeping, guest education, event activities, and marketing support.
